We buy mail-in from anywhere in the country, whether or not you bought the metal from us. Your price is locked the moment you submit — from that point the market is our problem, not yours.
Four hard requirements. An item that fails one of these gets sent back at our cost, so it is worth two minutes with a magnifier before you pack:
Sort by type before you ship. A tube of Silver Eagles mixed in with generic rounds is priced as generic rounds, because that is all we can safely assume on arrival. Separating them takes you a minute and is usually worth several dollars an ounce.
Condition is priced, not refused. We buy toned, scratched and circulated metal every week. It simply sits in a lower tier than brilliant uncirculated. Flag it when you submit and there are no surprises on either side.
What you need: a new, unused, unmarked box; packing paper; strong tape; and your purchase order. Skip the packing peanuts entirely, and don’t rely on bubble wrap for anything heavy — it pops under the weight of silver and leaves the contents loose.
Don’t reuse a box that advertises what’s inside it. Don’t write “gold”, “silver” or “coins” anywhere on the outside. Don’t use packing peanuts. Don’t take bars out of their assay. And don’t ship before your purchase order arrives — a package with no paperwork is a package we can’t match to a price.
Use the label we send you. It is insured for your full locked value, and that coverage is conditional on the packing rules above — which is the real reason they are written out in this much detail.
If you would rather use your own carrier, send it USPS Registered Mail, insured for the full value. Not UPS, and not FedEx: both exempt precious metals from their standard coverage, so a normal insured label from either is worth nothing on a box of coins. Email us the tracking number the day you ship.
| What to expect | |
|---|---|
| When | Three to five business days after your package arrives |
| How | ACH to your bank, or a check by mail |
| How much | Your locked total, less the $25 label fee if your offer was under $1,000 |
| Shipping | Free on offers of $1,000 or more |
If what arrives doesn’t match what you locked — a different coin, a short count, an unstamped round — we stop and call you before we do anything. We re-quote the items that differ, you accept or decline, and anything you decline goes back to you insured at our expense. We never quietly reprice a package and send you less than you agreed to.
A locked sell price is a commitment on both sides, and it carries the same market exposure in reverse as a locked buy price. What happens if a shipment never arrives is set out in the Price Lock & Market Loss Policy.
